The Grand Canyon is a much sought after tourist place, and one of the greatest natural wonders in the world. But few people know how high the place is. The description talks about the attraction, and there are pictures detailing the description. One interesting picture compares it with all the tallest buildings in the world.
There is a glass bridge that has been built, and it allows the viewers to walk over that and enjoy the experience of the canyon. The pictures cover the glass bridge from all angles and one can see how intimidating the height is. There is also a brief description about the tourist attraction, and details about the bridge.
The pictures and description are useful to those who have not visited the place, and also to those who are interested in geographical locations. They have been presented with an artistic feel with good strokes.
These pictures and information is also very important, as not too many people know much about the Grand Canyon before they visit the place. The height comparison is the most stunning aspect of this collection of pictures.
Glass Bridge will be suspended 4,000 feet above the Colorado River on the very edge of the Grand Canyon. On May 2005, the final test was conducted and the stucture passed engineering requirements by 400 percent, enabling it to withstand the weight of 71 fully loaded Boeing 747 airplanes (more that 71 million pounds).
The bridge will be able to sustain winds in excess of 100 miles per hour from 8 different directions, as well as an 8.0 magnitude earthquake within 50 miles. More than one million pounds of steel will go into the construction of the Grand Canyon sky walk.

Great proyect, i like it. :D
Great picture!
We drove out there from the Vegas area and found that the pricing is deceptive. The line to get tickets is a 30-45min wait flowing out of the building in the sun. They say about $25 + fees to walk it, but when you arrive you must pay $75+ dollars per person to buy a 'package' because you have to use their tour bus transportation to get in. They justify the cost because you get to see other view points and get food at their restaurant. There are no other restaurants in the area unless you paid to get in so unless you take their word for it that the food is good—you should pack in your own food.
The access is horrible: coming from the Vegas area the 115 mile trip you have to travel 28 miles on a windy rocky dirt road that kicks up dust. So don’t bring your nice sedan, motorcycle, or any low center vehicle. Coming back you cross the Hoover Dam so if you go on a weekend there is a stop and go 2 hour wait!!! What a nightmare.
So they advertise this attraction as open and ready for business but you find hidden pricing, lack of organization, and we felt down right swindled because after such a long trip you figure might as well pay the price they ask.
The rule for no cameras probably isn’t have to do with the protecting the glass floor but more to do with fact that if photos get out on the internet that no one will bother going. For the price you may as well just take a flying tour over the canyon.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Really appreciated that.
Comment to Anonymous:-I was very interested in your comments. I had hoped to visit in May on our trip to the States but visited the National Park Area 250 miles up-stream instead, deciding to visit the skywalk next time. Reading their web site, I was beginning to have some reservations myself and you have confirmed them somewhat - there does seem to be a bit of a rip-off and restrictive attitude (photography, etc.) towards the visitor.
The only moderating factor regarding access and comfort may - perhaps - be due to the fact that it is early days and they haven't got their act together yet. Maybe they were too hasty to get the show on the road!
But thanks anyway!

Thanks for the pics!
fascinating view. I posted the picture in my blog to help spread the news. It is here: www.xperienceoflife.blogspot.com
Your correct, but it is a once in a lifetime experience. So Hold your nose and enjoy it.
I just got back from a trip to this attraction, and yes, the road is dirt and winding, but it is through very scenic county. We had tno waits anywhere, and the ride on the tour bus was very informative. There were very freindly and wecoming people at each stop to give history and point out features. I can understand the separate pricing, as I wanted to see the bridge before I walked it, and I ended up doing it, but my friend didn't. I was very happy with my experience. It was far less than the price of a show in Vegas, lasted all day and was something very different.
Just got back home. Went for spring break to the 2 year anniversary.. WOW! Definitely one of the coolest things ive ever done.
No lines, No traffic. yeah 55.00 bucks total per person but still worth every penny. If you wanna see this spectacular view, you gotta pay a little for it. But hey in vegas whats 2 or 3 games lost at the blackjack table? 55 Bucks?
Do it, its worth every penny and everyone that went with us loved it
Interesting post you got here. I'd like to read something more concerning that topic. Thanx for giving that information.
